Job Title: Information Security Assurance Specialist

About the role

As the Information Security Assurance Specialist, you will will work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. We will rely on your judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining desired results within InfoSec assurance processes and technologies across IT and business functions.

The role will assume leadership in ensuring people, processes, technologies and 3 rd party vendors meet company wide information security and compliance requirements. This is achieved through building strong collaborative relationships with internal IT/business contacts as well as 3 rd parties.

Core Responsibilities

  • Understand Compliance Requirements - Understand and develop the management of group Information Security & Compliance requirements and obligations. Drive inputs to maintain and manage a mapping of internal security controls to industry Information Security & Compliance frameworks.

  • Oversee Compliance Remediation - Lead resources identifying gaps in ITG policy, people, process or technology areas and drive ITG departments in remediating. Assist in maintaining a documentation map of information security policies, controls and associated procedures. Work with ITG teams to ensure ITG documentation and reporting is always "audit ready"

  • Develop and Maintain the Information Security Assurance Practice - Lead areas of the Information Security Assurance practice including, defining service offerings, process definition and developing business engagement opportunities.

  • Risk Management - Assume a lead role in maintaining and managing the departmental Information Security risk register and vendor risk management areas. Feed departmental risks into functional risk register

  • Training and Awareness - Assume a lead role in managing and maintain the global Information Security awareness program. Train, coach and mentor other ITG team members in information security management practices and soft skills.


Skills & Experience

Essential Technical skills
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to information security and compliance (GDPR, Cyber Essentials)
  • The technical and procedural security controls that underpin cyber compliance within a global enterprise
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and web-browsers
  • Expert technical knowledge of software applications, processes, products, and hardware architecture
  • Knowledge of the following communication and connectivity systems required: Microsoft TCP/IP, networking protocols, firewalls, IPS, WAF, file sharing, Internet application connectivity, Cloud environments, Identity and access management technologies, Multi Factor Authentication, Encryption, Backup technologies
  • Active directory, Microsoft O365, Azure, Qualys, VMWare
