The aim of job is : To work with the Head of Corporate Communications Branch to oversee delivery of the communications and engagement strategy for Greater Manchester Police, building partnerships with senior leaders from across policing, business, media and other stakeholders.

To line manage the internal and external communication and engagement functions including media, digital, insight, campaign and creative functions in order to improve trust and confidence in policing. To generate behavioural change which supports the protection of the public from crime and anti-social behaviour.

To line manage the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) functional managers.

To deputise for the Head of the branch representing the Corporate Communications Branch across the organisation, the Greater Manchester region and policing regionally and nationally. Providing strategic and operational experience and support in a high profile and demanding environment.
