You will have the chance to work for a leading independent centre of engineering design, that provides consultancy and technical services for the defence, security, transport, and energy industries.
About the role
The Proposal Manager’s primary role is to manage and deliver high quality proposal responses, against the received requirements and changes to contract, within the context of the Engineering Delivery Partner (EDP) contract. This includes leading the task scoping and detailed pricing activities and working with our technical and resourcing teams to provide clear, concise, costed proposals in a timely manner.
You will work closely with the Senior EDP Commercial Manager, Head of EDP, the EDP Programme Manager, Business Lines, Project Managers and External Stakeholders. Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

About the role

- Manage and deliver high quality proposals addressing the client requirement, incorporating specific processes and templates applicable to the EDP contract
- Engage with EDP Partner companies and a wider network of providers as required, to agree delivery arrangements as part of the task scoping activity
- Plan, co-ordinate, and programme manage the task scoping and detailed pricing activities for the entire bid process for the respective bids
- Facilitate proposal workshops, organise meetings, provide briefings, and ensure that everyone involved in the proposal development exercise understands their role
- Collate, manage, and disseminate critical information that impacts proposal development
- Write compelling proposals in response to clients’ requirements
- Review and format proposal deliverables, providing a pre-submission control point to ensure quality and consistency of the final proposal outputs
- Work with EDP Commercial Partners to ensure compliance with the corporate processes, procedures, guidance, and record the approvals; accordingly, this also includes ensuring that the correct reviews are completed and documented
- Ensure delivery of compliant bids to agreed KPI dates
- Maintain records within the Management Information System (or equivalent software tool) within the given permissions to ensure that the information is current and correct
About You

- Strong, proven track record of proposal management / tender preparation
- Knowledge and understanding of the defence / engineering / consultancy industry or similar
- Demonstrable understanding of bidding / proposal practice, procurement processes and quality systems
- Able to write compelling proposals in response to clients’ requirements
- Able to engage people from different functions in order to jointly deliver bids
- Take immediate ownership of the proposal process
- Able to work collaboratively with clients, colleagues, senior management, EDP Partners and a wider supply chain
- Confidently deals with changing requirements
- IT Skills required in all Microsoft Office applications
