Role Summary

We have an exciting Senior Project Manager role to work within our recently restructured Project Management team at our site in Fareham. With a huge focus on innovation and a diverse customer base, this is an exciting time to join our business.

In this role your responsibility will be to lead and manage cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing engineering, supply chain, operations and quality) to deliver projects within the established non-recurring cost (NRC), delivery, quality, and other critical success factors (CSFs). You will manage projects from cradle to grave and be an integral part of our business

Core Responsibilities

  • Working knowledge of PLM, its application and implementation of it without supervision to achieve desired Project outcomes
  • Lead, manage and support team to accomplish goals and objectives
  • Understands the Business Case as it applies to the Project scope of work and manages the internal/external factors
  • Proactively manages Scope through Change Control, including creation of impact assessments, input to Claim Strategies and assistance with commercial negotiations,
  • Realises effective Project planning with complex relations and challenging milestones in a matrix organisation
  • Sequences project activities and deliverables, taking in to account various dependencies to determine critical path
  • Internal and External (Customer/Supply Chain) metric-driven Project Status reporting
  • Effective and structured approach to embedding Risk Management as central to effective Project delivery
  • Create, modify and agree project plans with the Engineering Leads


Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Ideally HNC or Degree educated
  • Proven experience leading technical projects, ideally in the context of airborne product development
  • Conflict management skills
  • Ability to visualize and plan objectives and goals strategically
  • Demonstrated ability to provide cross-functional leadership
  • Ability to develop strategic plans to grow the business
  • Track record of building and maintaining customer/client relationships
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervision, in order to meet deadlines
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers
  • Proficient in Project Management tools (i.e., MS Project)
