INTRODUCTION

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Camera, Tickets & Collisions Team as a Business Support Administrator.

There are currently several vacancies across the unit which consists of the Camera & Tickets Office, the Collisions Administration Unit, and the Prosecutions Team.

ABOUT CTC (Cameras, Tickets & Collisions)

CTC is responsible for the administration of speed management on the roads across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire, through fixed and mobile speed cameras, processing tickets for endorsable and non-endorsable offences and the administration of traffic offence reports. CTC is also responsible for the administration of all road traffic collisions across the three counties.

The unit prosecutes first hearing guilty pleas for traffic offences as well as preparing road traffic offence files for court, investigating police camera detected offences and collisions, as well as assisting the public with enquiries and insurance claims.

The unit's main role is to increase road safety, working with the Road Policing Unit and local partners, to change attitudes and behaviour on the roads, ultimately saving lives and reducing crime.

THE ROLE

The main purpose of the role is to provide administrative support to enable the efficient provision of service and to contribute to the vision, purpose, and values of Hertfordshire Constabulary.

Key responsibilities include: -
  • Dealing with a range of enquiries, some complex, either in written form, personal contact or by telephone or webchat
  • Providing information to members of the public
  • Liaising with outside organisations and suppliers both internal and external
  • Compiling data and supplying management information
  • Effectively operating computer-based systems
  • Providing a broad range of administrative support

You will need effective verbal and written communications skills to carry out this role. You will be a confident individual who has excellent attention to detail with a positive and flexible approach to working.

Key experience & qualifications required:
  • Experience in the use of IT and a good working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
  • Experience in working in an administrative role
  • Experience in operating a range of office equipment
  • The ability to demonstrate excellent customer service

Hours of work: ** Full-time 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 0800 - 1600 and Friday 08:00 - 15:30.** Part-time hours / job share can be considered. Flexible working patterns can also be considered around core hours.

On occasion the post holder may also be required to travel within the Tri-Force area to attend meetings and training. As such possession of a valid UK driving licence would be an advantage. These additional working and travel requirements may be negotiable and will be reimbursed in line with Force Policy. The post is based at Stevenage Police Station. The successful candidate will be employed by Hertfordshire Police.
