Role Summary

We're recruiting an exciting Value Stream Manager to lead our value stream at our state of the art facility in Coventry. The ideal candidate will be from an Industrial Manufacturing background, ideally Aerospace/Automotive or process driven environments but clearly able to demonstrate an ability of exceeding targets & developing future talent within their teams. You will have a background in CI & process improvements alongside an extensive toolkit in developing people & processes.

You will be responsible for effectively leading and developing the value stream, driving & improving our productivity as well as helping us reach our strategic goals. In return you will be working for a FTSE 100 Engineering business with a track record of promoting and developing from within.

Core Responsibilities

  • To lead and manage the Cells ensuring that key performance indicators are achieved therefore making certain that customer satisfaction demands are consistently met.
  • To maintain and develop all areas of responsibility ensuring productivity increases year on year and to be supportive of the Business Direction as guided.
  • To improve personal development of employees and methods of Manufacture in the Cell.
  • Develop and maintain systems to ensure compliance with all Environmental, Health & Safety and Quality requirements.
  • Manage continuous improvement activities including Kaizens and projects. Use the Operations Excellence Manager, Quality Engineer and Manufacturing Engineer to drive the process.
  • Manage the implementation of the MPS process into the Manufacturing Cell.
  • Ensure that capacity/scheduling analysis is carried out on a regular and appropriate steps are taken in relationship to the data created so bottlenecks are eliminated.
  • Manage employee relations issues, grievance and discipline liaising with the Human Resources Department when necessary.


Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Background in Manufacturing preferably in Automotive/Aerospace
  • Apprenticeship in Engineering, Manufacturing or other related field, or equivalent experience is essential
  • Proven ability of building dynamic & diverse teams whilst demonstrating excellent leadership
  • Experience with continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen events
  • Proficient with Lean deployment, flow and layout, Cellular, and Continuous Improvement concepts, and able to implement them to increase productivity and remove waste.
  • Ability to effectively & concisely report data & metrics
