PEQF (Police) Lecturer
Regional Based - London
About the role
Purpose of role: To deliver engaging, evidence based, high energy lectures and assessments to ensure students’ progress in a timely manner through their programme
Major tasks and activities:
• Deliver an excellent student experience in accordance with the programme requirements
• Provide teaching, learning support and undertake assessment to ensure students’ progress timely through their programme
• To develop highly motivated students who proactively engage with learning and transfer knowledge, skills and behaviours to the workplace, and enable them to integrate theory with practice through reflection
• Provide feedback and appropriate student support
• Support the curriculum team in the development of lesson plans and learning collateral to ensure the programme is current, innovative and evidence based
• Share best practice and engage in standardisation activities to enhance and develop the programme and ensure a consistent learning experience across the team
• Ensure delivery meets the requirements of the awarding bodies (HEIs) and the Babcock quality assurance framework
Key outputs / deliverables:
• An outstanding learning experience to student officers on the programmes
• Programmes delivered in line with Babcock and HEI quality standards
• Ensure provision delivery meets a minimum of a grade 2 Ofsted grade (measured through internal inspection)
• Students’ progress in line with agreed outputs and set KPIs
• Timely and overall completion targets met
• Minimise out of funded students (i.e. those past their completion date)
• Student records are kept up to date
• Lesson plans and learning collateral are developed in line with agreed targets
• Ensure safeguarding of all students

Security status:
• Requires enhanced DBS through the Disclosure and Barring Service and military security clearance
• NPPV 2 (possibly 1)
What do I need to do the role?
Key technical skills / competencies:
• Excellent literacy, numeracy and communication skills
• Ability to support, motivate and inspire others; driving performance and professionalism
• Strong KPI and performance focus in delivery
• Experience of delivering a consistent student experience
• Experience of developing interactive, engaging teaching and assessment collateral
• IT literate and able to use a variety of software (including MS Word, Excel PowerPoint and Outlook)
Key behavioural competencies:
• Commitment to the provision of an excellent student experience by adoption of creative, innovative, evidence informed and engaging teaching methods, with a firm focus on building practical operational policing skills based on reflective practice
• Ability and desire to be flexible around delivery in order to accommodate operational policing demands
• Demonstrate a high level of organisational skills and self-motivation
• Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Results focused with the ability to work under pressure
Company / industry knowledge:
• Comprehensive understanding of policing and the evidence base current context, challenges and issues, gained either through previous operational or academic experience
• An understanding of the Police Educational Qualifications Framework, Authorised Professional Practice and / or Policing Professional Framework
Qualifications:
• Significant operational experience in policing (ideally within the MPS)
• Educated to degree level or equivalent (desirable)
• Level 2 qualification (or higher) in maths and English
