Role Summary

Under general direction, provides vast expertise in developing a range of software per product requirements and specifications. Meets a high level of engineering standards per design specifications.

Core Responsibilities

• Provides extended expertise in the design and development of a range of software per product requirements and specifications. Identifies and resolves defects of basic scope.
• Has sound theoretical knowledge and some practical experience in applying engineering principles.
Technical Processes, Tools & Documentation
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities, including standardisation of tools and processes
• Competent use of Software development tools for design, simulation and verification tasks.
Technical Leadership
• Perform track and control internal project activities and manage external sub-contractors (including offshore verification partners). Creates periodic status reports for critical functions.
• Ability to apply a systematic, disciplined, and analytical approach to problem-solving with a minimum of oversight Commercial Awareness
• Understands and can manage the balance between quality, cost and time. Understands the different impact of non-recurring vs recurring cost changes.
• Has a basic understanding of contractual obligations and potential commercial risks

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

Skills:
• Experience delivering software projects, ideally in the aerospace or high technology sectors, from requirements capture to realization
• Strong written communication and verbal communication skills
• Ideally, knowledge of interface and communication protocols (ARINC429, CAN, SPI)
• Ability to research and analyze data effectively
• Well-organized, detail-oriented, and Ability to multi-task
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web browsers
