This role can be based remotely, but you will be required to attend our headquarters in Culham, Oxfordshire on a regular basis (c. 2-4 times per month on average).

It’s an exciting time to join the CNC’s IT team – we’re currently working through our 3 year plan to deliver a transition of providers, allowing us to deliver growth – both in our IT team and across the wider organisation.

Digital services underpin our ability to effectively deliver our mission and our IT department are responsible for the delivery of assured digital services to our user community, where and when they need it. This is a crucial role where you’ll have oversight of the full spectrum of business-enabling digital services, with an annual IT budget in excess of £5m. You will provide security architecture advice, technical insight and assurance to the design, development, implementation, and review of our digital services, while working seamlessly with suppliers and internal teams to meet and exceed all objectives.

You’ll lead and manage regular infrastructure and build security audits including IT Health Checks and discrete system penetration testing. If you have experience in IT and cyber security work, with a strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware, then this could be the role for you. You’ll be able to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems. This is a role where you’ll make a real impact, so you’ll need to have a strong understanding of a range of IT systems, and it would be advantageous, but not essential, if you had qualifications to back up your experience. A self-starter and excellent team player, you’ll have the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels and bring integrity, trust, and an innovative mindset to the role.
