Key Responsibilities
- Takes responsibility for the integrity of the solution areas that are his/her responsibility
- Delivers assignment in accordance with agreed scope, time, financial and quality measures
- Ensures effective client engagement and stakeholder management during assignment (may include management of subcontractors and partners)
- Completes assignment review with 'client' at the end of each and every assignment (or six month assignment)
- specialist groups that develops recognition of Company's capability that is transferable into sales opportunities
- Tracks market trends and competitor activities in 'specialist areas' and ensure this data is utilised for the ongoing service development
- Shares personal knowledge of specialist areas through special interest groups and other forums.
- To identify and manage risk in his/her business activities and take responsibility for reporting risks in a timely, open and appropriate manner
Essential Skills
- The role would suit a candidate with the following expertise:
A strong application architecture background. Would suit someone with prior experience in Application and/or Infrastructure engineering before moving into Architecture.
Experience with application/system integration and application programming interfaces (APIs) including RESTful and SOAP. - Experience of secure cloud solutions covering IaaS, PaaS and SaaS.
- Experience in AWS would be particularly advantageous.
- Experience in overseeing the implementation of end-to-end business processes across multiple platforms, including user interactions with secure on-line portals link to back-office systems.
- Proven ability to establish business and technical direction, delivering architecture for clients aligned to business requirements and technology strategy.
Experience working with stakeholders and other IT colleagues to gather a thorough understanding of detailed functional and non-functional requirements and articulate the impact of any proposed change on the business systems, IT software and infrastructure landscapes.
Ability to design and build solutions that deliver the desired business objectives.In doing so ensuring technical standards are known and met relating to target architectures, IT service (availability, resilience, performance and support), product quality and cyber/security requirements.
Able to ensure that robust solution design documentation is produced that will effectively support successful solution build, test and support.
Team Management experience

Desirable Skills
- Knowledge or certification in one or more IT architecture methodologies (e.g. TOGAF).
Creating IT solution documentation/artefacts using standard industry best practice frameworks and methodology (TOGAF) that are mapped to the business requirements, stories and benefits.
Experience of managing budgets and commercially aware.
using an Agile delivery methodology.
Experience of MOD security frameworks and processes.
Experience with Housing, Facilities Management and Field Service (incl Mobile) Systems.
Experience of working in the Defence sector.
