Project Managers provide a key role delivering the Home Office Transformation Portfolio. It is large, complex and challenging and encompasses over 20 major and/or mission critical projects and programmes plus four business portfolios of change. There is a strong focus on agile, modular project delivery, supported by enterprise-wide portfolio management and you could find yourself working on a project for the UK’s critical national infrastructure through to a complex technology enabled business change programme.

 

The Role of a Project Manager

Your role as Project Manager is to lead/manage the project and the project team. You will be responsible for driving and overseeing the project’s delivery to ensure objectives are clearly defined and achieved within the agreed time, cost and quality constraints. You will have a key role in project governance and working with stakeholders to ensure the agreed project outputs are delivered, /enabling benefits to be realised. As Project manager in NLEDP delivery forum you will be responsible for coordinating and producing plans across multiple delivery teams. You will report to the Head of Delivery.

 

Typical Role Responsibilities:

    Drive and oversee the end-to-end Project Delivery to ensure that the objectives are clearly defined, monitored and achieved within the agreed time, cost, and quality constraints Identifying, engaging with and managing the complex and varied project(s) stakeholder landscape across UK Law Enforcement Agencies Translating requirements into deliverables and using good judgement to determine where senior level support is required Leading on project(s) performance and controls e.g. delivery objectives, project planning and performance and reporting using appropriate governance frameworks Identifying and monitoring project risks, issues and interdependencies with related projects. Develop and implement timely mitigating actions / contingency plans, escalating where appropriate Developing and managing project budget(s) and resourcing plans and tracking delivery Implementing and managing effective and appropriate project processes and governance In line with the programme’s approach to change control and internal assurance boards.
 

Key Skills and Experience:

    Project Management and Delivery experience Working as part of a delivery team Follow process and quality requirements Planning experience Technical/hands on experience is desirable Experience dealing with suppliers Stakeholder management Team management skills Dependency management experience desirable Public sector experience desirable Agile methodologies JIRA and Confluence
