Project Managers provide a key role delivering the Home Office Transformation Portfolio. It is large, complex and challenging and encompasses over 20 major and/or mission critical projects and programmes plus four business portfolios of change. There is a strong focus on agile, modular project delivery, supported by enterprise-wide portfolio management and you could find yourself working on a project for the UK’s critical national infrastructure through to a complex technology enabled business change programme.

 

The Role of a Project Manager

As a Risk Manager you will proactively manage all risks and issues facing the Data Services & Analytics team for the Home Office. You will co-ordinate the consistent identification, documentation, monitoring and reporting of risks and issues. The Risk Manager will support the relevant risk or issue owners to identify and develop appropriate mitigation plans. This will involve different types of risk, from IT related risks to other BAU and business support type risks. They will escalate to the next level of management where appropriate, and take an ownership of all risk and issues relating to this department.

 

Typical Role Responsibilities:

    Risk Management Strategy, Processes and Procedures - Enacting the Risk Management strategy through effective use of risk processes and procedures in accordance with best practice, Departmental policy and the complexity of the change initiative. Ensures compliance with PD Risk and Issues strategies within DSA. Stakeholder Engagement - Provide effective and efficient advice on Risks and Issues to staff within DSA. Develop a programme of regular risk and issue reviews with key stakeholders. Point of professional knowledge and expertise on PD Risk and Issue Management for DSA. Identification, Analysis, Monitoring and Reporting of Risks and Issues – Responsible for facilitating the identification, analysis and monitoring of DSA Risks and Issues. Produces periodic and ad-hoc Risk and Issues reports to a standard template. Undertakes qualitative and quantitative risk analysis, as required.  Establish and maintains the Risk, Issues and Assumptions database and registers. Escalation – Attend relevant Risk community meetings and escalate DSA risks and issues as appropriate. Maturity Assessment – Responsible for establishing and conducting the DSA risk maturity assessment. AD HOC Work – Requirement to assist with Project support related work as and when necessary.
