Summary

Effectively manage procurement activities and cross-functional relationships with assigned suppliers ensuring appropriate Meggitt purchasing policies and procedures are applied at all times. Responsible for important internal and external relationships impacting financial, operational, and customer metrics as well as ensuring proper execution of assigned procurement activities including supplier management, commercial management, order book management, and supplier performance management to meet department and company objectives and targets.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships with designated suppliers of goods and services to ensure quality, cost, delivery and responsiveness targets are being achieved. Manage and enforce contractual obligations.
  • Conduct requests for quotation, evaluation, negotiations, and sourcing activities as directed in order to obtain a full range of products and services from suppliers that meet planned performance targets and Meggitt guidelines.
  • Drive annual cost down and minimise supplier cost increases. Accountable for commodity Purchase Cost Variance (PCV) performance.
  • Raise orders and/or other demand signals accurately and on time to ensure all goods and services are supplied by customer and company requirements whilst at the same time optimising levels of inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with government laws and regulations and company policies and processes.
  • Manage day to day supplier quality, pricing and delivery issues, eradicating and/or escalating problems efficiently both internally and externally to minimise the impact on our business.
  • Manage system and supply chain performance parameters such as supplier contact information, lead times, minimum order quantities, delivery frequency, and schedules.


Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Previous experience in a similar position within the Aerospace, Automotive, Chemical or Pharmaceutical environment is essential.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of Procurement in the Aerospace or Manufacturing field.
  • Successful track record of negotiating with a variety of suppliers, using different approaches & methodologies.
  • Confident to write specifications, prepare bid documents, handle bidding process and analyse all bid results.
  • Experienced in procuring parts from commodity suppliers and specialist manufacturers making customs parts or those suppliers providing specialist services.
  • Solves problems and exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to drive tasks to completion.
  • Proficient in using an ERP System.
