We are looking for a software developer to work closely with one of our key clients in developing C++ software applications for Linux and Android for an important operational system. You will be joining an established, friendly, and high-performing agile software development team and will be empowered to design, develop and deliver features on a rapidly changing product set.

The successful candidate will have an excellent technical understanding of C++ software development and a good understanding of object orientated programming concepts and will be comfortable working in a dynamic environment.

Due to the sensitivity of the work, this role will be primarily based in our Guildford office but there will be opportunities to work from home from time to time.

Responsibilities

  • Design, Develop and deploy virtualised Linux environments.

  • Develop Android Operating System C++ Code.

  • Support and enhance existing C++ product code bases.

  • Collaborate with software and support teams.

  • Liaise with customers and users of our systems.


Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree in software engineering, computer science, or equivalent fields, or a combination of education and work experience, with relevant experience.

  • 5+ years C++ Experience base with experience with Bash scripting.

  • Knowledge of Linux or Android OS development

  • Familiar with Git, Docker and Atlassian CI/CD tooling.

  • Great communication skills and willing to learn new skills.


Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Linux kernel or Android OS development.

  • Experience with debootstrap, UEFI, secure boot and TEE.

  • Familiarity of virtualisation technologies such as Xen.

  • Familiarity with Linux networking, Linux configuration and hardware specific Linux development


This role will require you to have or be willing to go through Security Clearance.
