Summary

An opportunity has arisen to join our organisation as a Senior Cost and Analysis Accountant. The main responsibilities will include the development and maintenance of the financial estimation model, leading actual results analysis and report out, installing efficient processes to deliver relevant, timely, accurate, actionable financial information, and developing cost targets and performance. We are seeking an individual who possesses diverse experience in both analysis and accounting and who can flex where needed. We rely on MS Excel extensively in our processes and need someone with advanced Excel knowledge. Experience in financial forecast modelling with Excel is highly valued for this role.

Core Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Operations Manager to improve operations, reduce costs, and grow the business.
  • Coordinate, and prepare annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, variance analysis and articulation of financial results.
  • Develop forecast assumptions and execution plans, working directly with the Operations, Finance Planning and Analysis Managers to deploy operational resources to achieve desired targets.
  • Drive financial statement development, period to period variance analysis, and key metrics reporting.
  • Loughborough site financial leadership through comprehension and articulation of financial results linked to operational cause/effect.
  • Support a financial control environment consistent with Company Finance Policy, GAAP and/or IFRS.
  • Support of Site Program Management financial support activities including development of the Strategic Plan financial metrics, Integrated Product Team financial support, and impairment testing.
  • Install efficient processes to deliver relevant, timely, accurate, actionable financial information.
  • Achieve personal performance goals and objectives set by the Finance Planning and analysis lead.


Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Management, Accounting, etc. preferable.
  • Qualified (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) with minimum of 2 years post qualification experience.
  • 2 years of Financial Planning and Analysis experience.
  • 2 years of experience in manufacturing business.
  • Cost accounting proficiency a plus.
  • Demonstrated capability to manage budgets and drive financial results.
  • SAP / data management.
  • Financial forecast modeling with Excel (income statement, cash flow, balance sheet).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to simplify/clarify complex and ambiguous problems.
  • Capability in driving solutions to assigned tasks utilising a proactive approach to problem solving.
