​Our client, a large government customer, are seeking a Risk Management Lead to join their team. The role home based with travel to other sites, mostly Corsham, Bristol and occasionally London. The role requires SC clearance.

Requirements are scheduled to run until 31/03/2023 and offer a rate up to £420/day

IR35 STATUS: Inside IR35. Our client has indicated that they intend to operate the engagement as Inside IR35. Candidates would be required to operate through an umbrella company on this engagement. The rates above represent rate payable to the umbrella co.

The Role

The Risk Management Lead role will report into the Programme Office and lead the risk, assumptions, issue, dependency and opportunity management activities for the Cyber Resilience Programme (CRP). This is a strategically important role and involves key stakeholder engagement.

Main Activities:

  •       Review, support and advise the PM in creating and maintaining their assumptions in the Master Data Assumptions List (MDAL)
  •       Review, support and advise the PM in creating and maintaining their Dependencies within the dependency register
  •       Review, support and advise the PM in creating and maintaining their risks and issues in the risk register
  •       Facilitate escalations to where necessary of key risks, issues, dependencies, and assumptions.
  •       Facilitate and support theme level reviews of risks, issues and dependencies.
  •       Facilitate escalations where necessary of key risks, issues, dependencies, and assumptions.
  •       Review, support and advise the Programme Management Team in creating and maintaining their risks and issues in the risk register
  •       Review, support and advise key stakeholders across the programme in creating and maintaining the strategic risks and issues in the relevant risk register
  •       Review, support and advise the Programme Management Team in updating 3OAs
  •       Maintain and update the Risk Management Plan
  •       Provide key inputs into key programme documentation such as the PMP.
  •       Theme Boards
  •       Update RAIDO reports for each project within the programme
  •       Present on key risks, providing clarification, context, and mitigations for the board’s awareness or action 
  •       Update RAIDO entries on all key programme reports
  •       Support business case approval activities for all the projects and the overarching programme, engaging with scrutiny and other assurance bodies
  •       Ensure all RAIDO elements are articulated and formatted in accordance with any approval requirements
  •       Provide wording and support to articulate the most important risks, dependencies and assumptions as part of business case approval
  •       Support and provide required input to any Schedule Risk Analysis required to support approval activity
  •       Support Change Control process with RAIDO input
  •       Weekly/Monthly PMO Status reporting

Skills – Essential

  •       Good understanding of project management.
  •       Reasonable understanding of PMO function
  •       Thorough understanding of RAID Management, risk identification and scoring techniques
  •       Strong communication skills – the ability to provide confidence to senior stakeholders, the programme team and external assurance bodies that RAIDO is being well managed across all areas of the programme
  •       Strong workshop facilitation skills
  •       Good management skills with aptitude to develop good leadership skills
  •       Willingness to be flexible to support emerging client requirements within PMO
  •       Strong stakeholder management skills - ability to engage with client/ client teams without supervision

Skills – Desirable

  •       Cyber experience
  •       Ideally experienced in risk management and use of specific tools such as ARM, ADAM, Predict, etc.
  •       Understanding of specific assumptions structures 3OAs, 4OAs, etc.
  •       Understanding of statistical risk analysis techniques, e.g., QSRAs, CRAs, and Cost modelling of risks

Candidate Eligibility

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK, this role will not offer Visa sponsorship. Tier 2 – General visas are cannot be accepted.
