About the role:

We require an Approvals Lead to join our Cyber account, delivering into our defence client. The Approvals Lead will be expected to advise, facilitate and support project teams in their quest for approvals. The lead will support in writing parts of the case, often acting as the document author to pull various contributions together. They will also collate supporting evidence required for the approval. Every approval has layers of endorsement and scrutiny prior to gaining final approval that must be managed. Depending on the size of case an Approvals Lead could support several cases simultaneously.

Key aspects of the role will be:

• Facilitate, guide and actively track a project team through the approvals process to achieve a successful business case submission.
• Support the project team in producing the business case within the MOD 5 case model structure (JSP 655) with adequate supporting evidence.
• Guide the team to ensure that the evidence provided is sufficient to meet the approval. This includes both technical and financial data.
• Guide the team in providing narrative and content at the right level.
• Book and attend meetings through the review and approval cycle to ensure the business case reaches the right audience at the right time.
• Collate and amend the case and supporting evidence.
• Be a document author, pulling content together to provide coherence.
• Liaise with finance and cost modelling resources to ensure that sufficient cost information is submitted nto the business case that has been formerly risk adjusted through the MOD approved process.
• Facilitate project managers in producing sufficient schedules, risks and assumptions
• Supporting the Approvals Manager in any way needed to enable the success of the team.

What the role requires?

• The Approvals Lead should have P3M experience of at least 5 years in technical projects and will have delivered the full lifecycle of a project
• Alternatively, a skilled Business Change Manager with 5 years’ experience in a technical environment having experienced a full life cycle transformation would be possible.
• Experience in writing business cases and document authorship.
• Knowledge and experience of the standardised Defence approvals process, use of JSP 655, the 5 Case model and HM Treasury’s Greenbook are desirable but not essential.
