Western Mortgage Services (WMS) is part of Legal, Financial & Regulatory Services, Capita Private Sector Partnerships.  Its primary client is a financial services provider and provides mortgage outsourcing services including loan origination, account servicing, collections, and recoveries.  Its main offices are situated in Leek, Staffordshire and Plymouth, Devon.

Mortgage Outsourcing is a key growth area for Capita and WMS is playing a significant role in supporting sales activity and delivering services to new clients.

The Role of a Learning and Development Consultant

As a Learning and Development consultant your role will primarily be to design, deliver and evaluate all channels of training to all staff within the account. 

Training will cover Induction, Regulatory, Client Change, Upskill and development modules though various channels and approaches.

You will have a passion and drive to promote and support all methods of learning and be the face and focal point of development for the account promoting and displaying all the Capita Values and Behaviours whilst being an ambassador for self-learning and development.

Responsibilities

· Deliver and support new induction training to all new entrants into each business area when required that meet the regulatory and contractual Training and Competency scheme.

· Deliver and support all upskill/cross skill and enhancement training to each business area when identified that meets the regulatory and contractual Training and Competency scheme.

· Deliver and support all Regulatory and Change training to all business areas where required that meets the regulatory and contractual Training and Competency scheme.

· Deliver and support all Career development modules to all business areas where required.

· Ensure all induction training materials are updated and maintained along with any supporting collateral from regular operational feedback to include when required operational process changes and Financial Regulatory updates/changes

· Work with each business area to identify, develop and design content to support upskill and cross-skill training interventions to enhance and support skills gaps with the aim to achieve operational objectives

· Continually review training material, delivery methods, tools, and approaches to identify areas of improvement to highlight any efficiencies in term of cost and time whilst continuing to maintain high quality standards.

· Engage and collaboratively work with the business Change Managers, Analysts, Senior Managers and Clients to identify and support the delivery of Regulatory and Client Change through training by various methods to all business areas.

· Work effectively with each business area and third-party providers, ensuring a smooth transition from design to delivery and that training is fit for purpose, meets appropriate quality standards and measures of success

· Design and develop training materials to support the delivery using various channels and methods i.e., Classroom, Self-learning, Computer based training (CBT) and remote /virtual technologies.

· Identify and regularly work collaboratively with key business stakeholders and clients to review and obtain sign off training material, and content, through regular meetings and reviews.

· To continually develop and promote development through self-learning approaches and tools such as Capita Academy, Career development modules, Apprenticeships, and account Development programmes within the account

· Develop and maintain regular operational and training insight to understand productivity and performance to highlight improvement opportunities and identify and track glidepath to competency

· Manage all regulatory mandatory training modules and schedules throughout the year closely working with Regulatory and Assurance areas of the business.

· Coach and support others in assigned business areas, and peers within the team to maximise potential and high performance

· To ensure training planner is kept up to date and reflects training of all aspects across the account, this through delivery via trainers, Subject Matter experts or operational coaches.

· To take ownership of self-development and continually learning of Learning and Development approaches and best industry practice.

· To continually learn and engage with business areas to better understand challenges/ best practices and awareness of business objectives and targets.

· Develop and maintain a training matrix of all staff to help and support Business Continuity, Development and identification and support operational excellence and targets.

· Reviewing the L&D industry regularly for continuous innovation, ensuring best practice always, maintaining links with professional bodies to ensure we have the most up-to-date development solutions, process, and practices.

 

Requirements

    Experience and track record within Learning and Development, desired but has the ability and passion to support and develop others. Skilled influencer and relationship builder Ability to conduct and facilitate learning needs analysis through identification and use of appropriate tools / methods. A clear and concise communicator Good analytical and conceptual thinking and ability to deal with complexity and ambiguity Excellent facilitation skills and able to engage and excite learners. Strong project planning organisational and implementation skills Strong time management and organisational skills. Has good/strong coaching and mentoring skills. Experience in working with Senior / Client and external suppliers/stakeholders. The ability to influence colleagues and to provide honest and open feedback. Proven facilitation skills. Ability to personally deliver full training cycle (scope/design/deliver/evaluate) and manage quality of output Demonstrate high personal credibility Is adaptable, flexible and can think laterally and quickly English/Maths Proficient with MS technology and training packages.
