The operations team is at the heart of the contract success providing a large Asylum centre on behalf of UKVI at RAF Linton. The department will be responsible for the onsite support, provision of service and safeguarding of our vulnerable Service Users. Pivotal to the effective running of site, members of the department will be responsible for the establishment of cohesive and collaborative ways of working. The team is also responsible for optimising service and supporting continuous improvement across the operational workstreams.

We have an opening for a Facilities Manager who will be accountable for the overall delivery of services

The FM manager is responsible for:

  • Driving and delivering contracted FM service levels to a client that are safe, high quality, financially viable and operationally functional.
  • Manage and direct the on-site team in the delivery of services required from the contract.
  • Ensure all contractual KPIs/SLAs are reported and achieved in line with contract Business Plan.
  • To develop and be accountable for departmental budgets, staffing, and capital expenditure. To advise and assist across the contract where necessary.
  • Thorough understanding of PPM and reactive/remedial works scheduling and programming.
  • Good understanding of the principles of a CAFM system
  • Ensuring the team have the required tools and equipment, including PPE to safely carry out their work. 8. Ability to carry out mentoring & coaching of staff.
  • To seek to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and effectiveness of FM services and delivery.
  • To identify risks, requirements and implement plans for the recruitment, training, and development of all relevant FM staff.
  • Application of approved Quality Control, Health & Safety, Environmental and COSHH standards and evaluation of work practices
  • To manage, plan and co-ordinate project works liaising with the J&I FM Project Manager.


What you'll need to do the role

  • Experience both in operational and management roles is desirable with a wide exposure to the total provision of FM services and building infrastructure gained, preferably, in a custodial environment.
  • Operational knowledge and application of current Health & Safety, Environmental legislation, Quality Assurance controls, COSHH requirements and SFG is a pre-requisite.
  • Working experience of CAFM systems.
  • PC literacy, use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Project.
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Strong working knowledge of SLAs/KPI's, including their creation, concepts and management
