8-week cycle working a mixture of days and nights (07:00 - 19:00 and 19:00 to 07:00)

Salary £28,076 per annum

Here at Serco we're looking for a Plumber / Fitter to join our team at James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough. This role will carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive mechanical and some electrical maintenance to services on the site in accordance with a computerised programme, recording actions and times taken. They will work with a multi-skilled team providing an efficient estates service, and together will undertake minor improvement and minor capital works as directed by Estates management. They will carry out all types of mechanical, electrical and/or building maintenance as requested and within competence levels.

The Plumber / Fitter will provide initial response to all out of hours reactive (Mechanical / Electrical / Building) requests through the Help Desk facility and escalate as required to Estates Management.

What you'll need to do the role
It is essential that you have a recognised CITB apprenticeship or a demonstrated equivalent (minimum NVQ level 3). You should also have extensive experience within a building services environment, and sound knowledge and understanding of a safe system of work. You should be customer focused and able to follow instructions safely and effectively. You need to have an adaptable and flexible approach, and be able to work well as part of a team but also have the ability to work using your own initiative.
