Summary

The Project Manager plans, monitors and manages internal project(s), from initiation through completion. Engages internal resources to ensure project delivery is on time and aligned with project requirements and objectives. Applies professional principles, practices, and techniques to lead project processes while controlling cost, performance and risk.

Core Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with Programme Managers in the process of driving critical recovery projects.
  • Customer focal point, leading build plans and continuous improvement activities for legacy business.
  • Leads an integrated project team (IPT) to deliver a scope of work as set out.
  • Operates cross functionally to find mutually beneficial positions between stakeholders and the project deliverables to drive the success of the project.
  • Motivates the project team to contribute towards best project management practices and shares the success of good results.
  • Achieves milestones and deliverables against the schedule and implements warnings to trigger corrective actions that prevent falling behind schedule.
  • Estimates cost phasing through the project to support budgeting and forecasting.
  • Monitors the current non-recurring costs against the approved schedule. Identifies and corrects the reasons for any divergence.
  • Supports internal and external review meetings for the programme.
  • Communicates project status using data driven metrics to the stakeholder community and highlights areas of attention at appropriate intervals.


Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • 5 -7 years of relevant experience, ideally from the Aerospace background.
  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.
  • Strong background in project management methodology.
  • NPI project experience is highly desirable.
  • Ability to adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to develop clear and detailed plans.
  • Ability to work independently and interface with cross-functional disciplines; using excellent interpersonal skills to drive tasks to completion.
  • Self-motivated with problem solving and decision making skills.
