Our role in Internal Communications is to create excitement and optimism for the future of the College, helping to build trust and advocacy among our colleagues. Internal communication plays a critical role in helping to engage our staff in our new direction.

Job description
We're looking for someone with a strong internal communications background who can hit the ground running to lead our internal communications team and provide high quality internal communication support and advice across the College.

You will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive internal communications strategy to drive positive engagement with our staff. Key areas will be to inform, consult, involve, and support staff, and to celebrate achievements through a wide variety of internal communication activity all designed to help unite colleagues behind our mission as an organisation - to support everyone in policing to reduce crime and keep people safe.

You will work closely with other communications teams to deliver timely and coordinated communication activity across a mix of internal channels.

Experience at developing strong working relationships with people at all levels is key, as is the ability to negotiate, persuade and influence. You'll keep abreast of activity within the College, advising on the best channels and activity to maximise impact.

You'll be someone who shares ideas, helps to shape our direction and constantly strives to improve processes and ways of working. You'll be skilled at translating complex information into clear, meaningful and engaging content. You will work at pace, be solution focused, have great planning and organisation skills and will be prepared to challenge others when needed.

This role is part of the College of Policing's Corporate Communications Unit and can be either home or office based, but you may be required to travel on a regular basis.

Responsibilities
All applicants must have experience of:
•*Developing and delivering internal communications strategies to drive staff engagement.
•*Providing strategic internal communications advice to senior leaders on staff engagement.
•*Delivering creative and engaging internal communications campaigns to engage staff in new initiatives, manage business change or drive behaviour change.
•*Developing positive and productive strong working relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels, providing expert advice and challenge.
•*Experience of leading and developing a team including supporting, developing and motivating individuals within that team.
