Due to the secure nature of this work all applicants will be required to gain UK Security Clearance to at least SC level. You must have been resident in the UK for at least the last 5 years and cannot have been outside the UK for more than 28 days on any one occasion within this time.

 

To be successful in this role:

You will be a confident Data Engineer with a real interest in Big Data, familiarity with AWS or GCP and experience of Data Engineering. We are looking for candidate across a range of experience from junior to more senior and ideally you will have some experience with a blend of the following technologies:

  • Azure Data stack
  • Dynamo, Lambda, S3, IAM, Secrets manager, DMS, EC2, EMR, DMS, SQS, CloudWatch
  • Spark / Databricks
  • Cloud Storage, Composer, Cloud Functions, GCP Logging
  • Terraform / CloudFormation / Polumi / Ansible
  • Python
  • Git
  • Postgres / Cassandra / SQL Server / SQL expertise & Schema mgmt experience
  • K8s, helm
  • Kafka
  • Airflow
  • Snowflake BI / Parquet
  • Datadog
  • Scala, Java
  • API Design / Microservices
  • Docker
  • Jenkins, CI/CD methodologies
  • Must also be comfortable in a working from home environment

 

Position summary:

As a Data Engineer you will be working within the Data Operations area of a Delivery Centre on diverse programmes of work for private and public sector clients. This role can be remote with a view to one day a month in a local office for collaboration with your team but access to an office is there if you want it. Our client is open to range of experience, and so if data is your thing and you are a driven techie that is entrepreneurial and curious then this could be for you.

 

Job role and responsibilities:

You will work in an exciting team that is tasked with creating and managing Big Data infrastructure and tools, typically designing and building big data pipelines and platforms. You will be working from home on projects that will sit within your comfort zone BUT you will have access to programmes of work and training that will allow your career to go in the direction you want.
