Role Summary

We are recruiting an exciting Manufacturing Engineer position to join our market-leading Heatric business, part of Meggitt. With a strong order book, a number of new & exciting projects in the pipeline, we're now looking for an Manufacturing Engineer to join our team.

In this role you will provide expertise in supporting and improving our manufacturing capabilities to produce products for our customers. Furthermore, you will drive design for manufacture (DFM) throughout the lifespan of the project to ensure successful delivery as well as drive continuous improvement throughout our manufacturing engineering division.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead the departmental Project Management. Drive to ensure that projects allocated to the Manufacturing Engineering team are being delivered safely, on time, within budget and fit for purpose
  • Support the business capital projects, equipment and process development. Work with the rest of the Manufacturing Engineering team to ensure successful project delivery
  • Research and design new systems and processes and provide facilities and methods to ensure the cost effective and safe integration of new products (or the improvement of existing ones) into the manufacturing areas
  • Support the implementation of new equipment, processes, procedures and systems ensuring that the NPI and MOC processes are used and implemented in a correct manner
  • Lead and manage the DFM process, ensuring that it is communicated effectively to the rest of the business. Maintain the DFM procedures and work instructions with up to date techniques and standards
  • Lead, support and develop the use of MPS tools for the department, and the rest of the business when required, in order to improve current processes and procedures
  • Be the Engineering SME in manufacturing, procedures and equipment capabilities for the production processes to maintain and improve safety and quality standards. Provide expertise to identify improvements for the manufacture of Heatric products


Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • HNC/Degree qualified
  • Competent understanding of welding processes
  • Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings. AutoCad experience is essential
  • Ability to drive Lean/CI initiatives
  • An understanding of project management tools: DFMEA/PFMEA etc
  • Ability to gather data, to compile information, and prepare reports
  • Desire & enthusiasm to want to grow & develop within our business
