We are looking for an outstanding Occupational Health Physician to provide and deliver agreed occupational medicine services, clinics and case work. You will work closely with the Clinical Lead, the Head of Wellbeing and our Head of Safety to ensure a coordinated and consistent approach to maintaining and enhancing high professional and service delivery standards. You will provide expert Occupational Health advice and guidance to support Force wellbeing objectives in relation to improving and/or maintaining a safe, healthy and productive workforce. 

The Role
 

You will undertake a range of services including weekly clinics including:

  • Complex Case Management, Sickness Absence Management, Health Surveillance, Ill-Health Retirement/Pensions, Safety Critical Work Medicals & Pre-Employment Assessments.
  • You will report directly to the Head of Occupational Health to assist them in shaping the service provision for the future.
  • Your role includes improving quality and safety standards, delivery of targets, service modernisation.
  • You will work with the Clinical Lead to support and develop the clinical staff to enhance service delivery to clients.
     

Requirements

  • A valid GMC registration with no restrictions or conditions.
  • Ideally qualified as a Member of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine or an experienced Associate of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine 
  • Experience of police Occupational Health work or other safety critical industries is advantageous, but not essential.
  • Experience of Ill Health Retirement processes 
  • A good team player who possesses effective communication & relationship building skills

Vetting 
Successful applicants will be required to pass Management Vetting and Security Clearance scrutiny prior to commencing their role, this will include a full background & financial disclosure as part of the vetting process.

Medical
Appointment to this role will be dependent upon successfully medical checks, which may include a drugs test and if required a fitness test.
