Aircraft Stress / Repair Engineers

Sitec, a Belcan Company has an exciting opportunity for several Aerospace Stress Engineers to work within the Belcan Repair Team in Bristol. These are Contract roles with flexible working.

From lightning strike to un-contained rotor failure damage and major aircraft repair embodiment programmes covering the entire fleet for large commercial and military aircraft (fixed wing and rotors).

Working within a team of dedicated, proactive, forward thinking, friendly and experienced design, static and fatigue engineers.Generally, degree qualified candidates are preferred although any candidates with the right experience will be considered. We are looking for sharp minded individuals who can quickly use their skills to efficiently justify each repair scenario using validated methods. A solid understanding of structural load paths and failure modes is essential. Candidates will have experience using a wide range of hand calculation methods and associated supporting technical documents with the ability to apply and adapt these methods to real situations. Ability to quickly adapt to bespoke in house/customer analysis tools is needed and an awareness and experience of FE techniques is useful. Excellent PC skill is essential, in particular the ability to use spreadsheets with a highly controlled and methodical approach. Any programming skills and generation of macros in MS Office applications is advantageous. You will need to thrive on the responsibility of working with a highly tuned Engineering team who always want to achieve. Delivering real repairs for live aircraft, on time and on quality. Working under hourly time-scales and delivering the best solution for the life of the airframe for our customers is the minimum that we expect. Must have the ability to pro-actively manage tasks and have very good communication skills to provide an efficient response. A good command of technical English both written and verbal is essential.AOG and short turnaround requests are frequent and the rewards are being able to take control of a task from start to finish with the bonus of closure when the collated teams work has been approved.

Essential Skills

The repair static stress engineer's role would suit a candidate with current or recent fixed wing and/or rotor structural analysis experience, in particular those who have had the exposure of compiling structural justifications for repair and in service issues.Static analysis of aircraft structures using a range of hand and computer methods.An understanding of the fundamental method of static stress analysis and an ability to develop these methods.Ability to liaise/negotiate with Design, Customer Services and suppliers.

Essentially a Monday to Friday role based in the Filton, Bristol area, however, when sufficient levels of experience and authorisation have been achieved, there will be the possibility to assist remotely including with the 'out-of-office hours AOG on-call team' together with remote access at weekends/evenings.

Security

All candidates must be eligible to work in the UK without restriction and have a background that will allow UK security clearance to a minimum of BPSS level to be obtained.
