An experienced Business Analyst is required to take the lead on mapping of the services and roles to be provided within the new structure. They will be expected to provide technical knowledge and expertise around service integration and business process re-engineering.

Key accountabilities:

  • Conduct business analysis activities to achieve agreed outcomes depending on the requirements of each project, ensuring work is completed within agreed timescales and to quality standards.
  • Conduct Process and Service analysis, interview, workshops, and data analysis to understand and define business problems, create vision statements and value propositions for suggested change, and align to user needs in order to deliver the necessary outcomes.
  • Identify and articulate ‘As Is’ business process diagrams (where appropriate) and other business design artefacts using agreed methodologies to support an understanding of the current state.
  • Document “To Be” business designs to support strategic and operational goals and enable smarter working (through improved use of IT, data and/or process change).
  • Work with colleagues to translate business requirements and business designs into technical design.
  • Identify and test opportunities to streamline Service and Process offerings, including but not limited to Lean process engineering, utilization of queuing theory.
  • Work with key stakeholders, including Users, developers, architects, and Business Change advocates throughout the project lifecycle to ensure the design and solution delivery aligns with the business needs; continually translating business needs to developers.

Key Requirements:

  • Relevant and specific experience as a Process Analyst / Process Mapper, preferably within a Law Enforcement or Government environment.
  • Experience of understanding, analysing and documenting business processes, designs, requirements, activities and IT systems ('as is' and 'to be').
  • Experience of Lean process mapping and re-engineering – including production of appropriately structured, validated maps and supporting documentation.
  • Knowledge of Process and Service Mapping approaches (EDA-B roles).
  • Knowledge of Service definition, Service Mapping and Process Mapping.
  • Knowledge of Lean Business Analysis.
  • Strong meeting and workshop facilitation skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Confluence and Jira.

Desirable Requirements:

  • BCS Diploma in Business Analysis.
  • LEAN certification.
  • Queuing theory.

NB: Pay rate is provisional, TBC.
