Summary

The purpose of the role is to ensure that operations are conducted in a safe and environmentally aware manner. The successful candidate will be a natural leader, able to coach and develop the team against KPIs' and company standards. The position carries responsibility for stability and continuous improvement within a Quality and Engineering environment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Drive to achieve RFT (Right first time).
  • Target and Implement plans to increase Efficiency (Based on Standard to Actual hours).
  • Reduce scrap and rework using best practice techniques (RCCA to prevent reoccurring quality issues).
  • Ensure Teams are monitored to comply with company standards and KPIs (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity).
  • Review management, cost control and reporting systems necessary to achieve satisfactory execution and control of operational activities and performance of the module.
  • Use KPI's to measure also to drive operational performance on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Manufacturing/Scheduling management.
  • Maintain module manning levels to meet long/short term capacity requirements.
  • Contribute to delivery of cross functional projects.
  • Drive a continuous improvement culture throughout manufacturing.
  • Recruit, build and retain a strong performance focussed team.


Skills, Experience and Abilities

  • Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment with increasing levels of responsibilities is preferred.
  • Knowledge/Experience in Lean Manufacturing is highly desirable.
  • Manufacturing Management within a technical environment is essential.
  • Health & Safety best practise.
  • Experience of successful strategic development/change management within manufacturing operations.
  • Project Management skills.
  • Excellent prioritisation and time management skills.
  • Persuasive and influential with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Credible and confident communicator (written and verbal) at all levels.
  • Results oriented with credibility and decisive in nature.
  • Strong leadership skills - effective in motivating and directing a team for positive results.
  • Mentoring and coaching skills.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, Microsoft Excel & ACCESS databases
