Test Analyst - Automation


£55-65K plus extensive benefits package

Due to the highly secure nature of this work all applicants will be required to hold current UK Security Clearance to at least SC level.

To be successful in this role:

Our clients programme has a history of manual testing, but there is a focus on moving to use more test automation going forward. You will therefore currently be operating as an Automation Test Analyst or be a Test Analyst with a real passion to expand into this area.

The work will be as part of an agile testing team based in either Reading or Hook with potential trips to the other.

The project operates regular 'rota based' outages, which a candidate would be part of for the role. The outages take place outside normal working hours with overtime payable.

Any experience with the eggPlant functional testing tool would be desirable.

Position summary

Cortisone is the next generation of medical systems building upon INTERMOLAR - a high profile, challenging and successful programme in the UK Defence sector for MoD. The end user community are the Defence Medical Services (DMS) an umbrella organisation within the Ministry of Defence in the United Kingdom, which organises all medical, dental and nursing services within the British Armed Forces.

The core of the system is a COTS product (PCS) which has been customised with bespoke code and database schemas to provide the required functionality. In addition to this, a variety of smaller Bespoke and customised applications are provided on the environment.

Job role and responsibilities:

The role of Automation Test Analyst will involve being part of an Agile (SAFe) team working in several areas and including the following testing activities:

  • Scoping and planning
  • Execution for fixes and enhancements
  • Environment configuration
  • Design and scripting
  • Fault reporting and analysis
  • Guiding others in best practices and capturing/sharing knowledge
  • Producing documentation as required, including release notes, installation guides, etc

The programme has a history of manual testing, but there is a focus on moving to use more test automation going forward. Experience of automation and/or a real desire to expand into this area is essential.
