Building Support Assistant
Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary, A75, Cargenbridge, Dumfries DG2 8RX
Full time (37.5 hours per week) 6 week shift rotation
Permanent
Salary is £21,709.00 per annum plus shift enhancements and potential AP/CP payments
Here at Serco we're looking for a Building Support Assistant to join us at Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary Hospital. Reporting into the Senior Technician, The Building Support Assistant (BSA) shall undertake works, under the guidance of the Technical Management team, technicians and craftsman, on all aspects of engineering plant and equipment for both planned and reactive maintenance.
The post holder will undertake planned maintenance and reactive repairs, working from training programmes, work procedures and operational manuals, recording and logging readings, carrying out basic adjustments and repairs with careful documentation and recording on service sheets and work orders.
You will carry out ductwork cleaning, filter changing, lamp and tube replacement including cleaning plant, equipment, plant rooms, plenums and electrical sub-stations as required.
You will be prepared to work in high risk, and challenging areas ensuring all safety measures to prevent danger, avoid injury and prevent damage to equipment are fully implemented
What you'll need to do the role
You will have a recognised industry training (NVQ's - technical task specific) and health and safety awareness/ certification and experience of working within a building services maintenance environment.
