Project Managers provide a key role delivering the Home Office Transformation Portfolio. It is large, complex and challenging and encompasses over 20 major and/or mission critical projects and programmes plus four business portfolios of change. There is a strong focus on agile, modular project delivery, supported by enterprise-wide portfolio management and you could find yourself working on a project for the UK???s critical national infrastructure through to a complex technology enabled business change programme.

 

 

The Role of a Project Manager

The role of the Project Manager is to lead / manage the project and the project team on a day-to-day basis. The Project Manager is responsible for driving and overseeing the delivery of the project to ensure that the objectives are clearly defined and achieved within the agreed time, cost and quality constraints. The Project Manager has a key role in project governance and working with stakeholders, to ensure the agreed project outputs are delivered to enable benefits to be realised.

 

 

Typical Role Responsibilities:

The Project Manager will manage the project team on a day-to-day basis - Home Office Resourcing Centre, central resourcing team. This high-profile large project is due to be released in April ??? IT Platform for Recruitment within Home Office, support with planning and pilots will be needed.

The Project Manager is responsible for driving and overseeing the delivery of the project to ensure that the objectives are clearly defined and achieved within the agreed time, cost and quality constraints. The Project Manager has a key role in project governance and working with stakeholders, to ensure the agreed project outputs are delivered to enable benefits to be realised and will work collaboratively with the Workstream team and the Programme???s central PMO team to achieve this.

 

 

Description of the Key Outcomes & Deliverables

  • Home Office Resourcing Centre, central resourcing team and the role will require liaising with a number of teams (tech, marketing, analytics etc)
  • Management of multiple project work streams
  • Support across all teams with multiple work streams, mapping, planning, reporting
  • Project planning and documenting is a large part of this role and experience is essential in this
  • Engagement and responsibility with stakeholders and building relationships across teams
  • Confident in engaging with senior leaders, opportunities to represent and pitch to boards
  • Benefits reporting

  • Strong experience with project governance
  • Ability to paint a picture and develop a roadmap for projects, breaking down workstreams and work at a strategic level
  • Service delivery, MI reporting, resourcing background ??? desirable
