PMO Office Support – Active SC Clearance – (Inside IR35)

Contract Term: 11 Months

Contracting Authority: MOD LF

Location: Remote Working / Andover – 2 days a week

As a PMO Office Support, your main responsibilities would be: 

The role will include elements of the following:

Governance and Assurance

  • Support the PMO Manager to ensure appropriate governance is in place and arrange external reviews e.g. Gateway Reviews at appropriate points in project cycle.  Monitor effectiveness of controls and ensure recommendations from external reviews are acted upon.
  • Support the PMO Manager to ensure Programme compliance with APfO documentation and oversee provision of input to relevant portfolio boards on behalf of the Programme SRO and Programme Manager. Review and maintain PMO processes, ensuring coherence with wider directorate and Army processes.

Planning and Scheduling

  • Support the PMO Manager to ensure systems are in place to enable effective Planning and Scheduling. Support high level planning by undertaking actions as required to facilitate the development of programme plans and collating lower level plans to produce programme/project milestones.

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Manage project controls and produce reports on behalf of the the Programme Manager, SRO and Boards about project status. Develop and maintain a comprehensive single source of information to enable regular reporting to governance boards to inform decision making.

Resources

  • Support Programme Manager in identification, recruitment, development, deployment and reassignment of resources throughout the Programme lifecycle in collaboration with the Army Portfolio Office (APfO) resourcing lead.

Stakeholder/Stakeholder Management

  • Manage and engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advise Programme team on appropriate tools and techniques for managing stakeholder relationships. To support the development of stakeholder profiles, facilitating the formulation of stakeholder strategies and monitoring the effectiveness of communications.  Provide assurance to the Programme manager on effectiveness of stakeholder management arrangements.

Risks and Issues

  • Support the PMO Manager to identify potential risk areas, working with risk manager and escalating as appropriate.
  • Change Management
  • Establish and implement protocols to change scope of Programmes and update configuration documents as required.

Project Performance & Controls

  • Establish and operate project controls on behalf of Programme Manager, reporting on Programme progress and status to appropriate stakeholders.  Identify common capabilities and opportunities for linking up, re-using and sharing of methods and resources between Projects or Programmes.  Ensure learning from experience is disseminated across organisation.

Guidance & Support

  • Identify, develop and share best practice project management processes, tools, templates and benchmarks against industry standard.  Provide direction and guidance to programme team.

Line Management

  • There will be no line management responsibilities with this role.

  • MS Projects
  • Good Excel Skills
  • P6 Primavera would be beneficial
  • Sharepoint , Microsoft teams
