The Role as a Project Manager

Digital Project Managers are responsible for ensuring that assigned projects are delivered to time, budget and quality with benefits realised in-line with business cases. They will be responsible for ensuring that the LNER digital delivery governance process is followed and make sure that the correct activities, resources, and budgets and being organized appropriately to ensure expected outcomes are achieved as per the plan.  

What will you be doing?

    Working with key stakeholders & suppliers to deliver digital projects to agreed timescales, budget & quality Proactive risk, issue & dependency management to minimise delay, including reporting & escalation where appropriate Adherence to the digital portfolio governance, delivery lifecycle & ways of working Exercise full control over projects ensuring all documentation & plans are maintained Financial management & commercial understanding, including full ownership & tracking of the project budget to ensure no over/under spend beyond agreed tolerances Quality management to ensure project outputs are fit for purpose and fit for use Stakeholder management and proactive communication so they feel like customers who have visibility and control Establishing and maintaining key relationships with both internal teams and suppliers to facilitate feasible, timely and cost-effective contract and project delivery Act as a liaison and support between the digital department and other departments to facilitate the delivery of action plans/projects to ensure that all are being successfully implemented and are having maximum impact for our customers and/or our people Handover to BAU in a safe manner so production stability is maintained Support the Digital Programme Manager in planning, coordinating and tracking project progress, contributing to programme/portfolio reporting & planning when appropriate
 

Essential Criteria

    Minimum 5 years PM experience Evidence of managing complex & cross functional digital change Ability to manage and lead a variety of stakeholders at all levels Excellent risk & issue management Financial management, budget control & tracking Strong influencing and communication skills Strong collaborative skills Project Management methodology e.g. Prince2 Live the LNER brand values
