SC Cleared – Oracle BI Implementation Specialist (Inside IR35)

Contract Term: 6 Months (Extension TBC)

Contracting Authority: Home Office

Location: Hybrid working (Primarily home based but must be willing to access the Croydon office if required in 2022. Flexible and not often)

Background:

The Home Office Finance, HR and procurement services provides all staff and managers with the ability to complete a variety of tasks quickly and online. This single ERP platform delivers value for money and a consistently good level of service to staff. Most HR, finance and procurement services are available to staff via employee and manager self-service. As part of the HM Government’s Next Generation Shared Services Strategy, the HO is/moved on to a “Software as a Service” offering. The Oracle Business Intelligence Implementation Specialist will lead on the build/continuous support of a new/existing reporting platform in the Cloud, working with our vendors/3rd party suppliers in conjunction with different business arms within the HO.

As SC Cleared Oracle BI Specialist, your main responsibilities would be: 

  • Having a sound understanding of the architecture for Oracle Cloud Compute, Database and ODI for BI Cloud. This includes:
  • Migration of Current on-premise BI Database into the cloud
  • Ability to create SQL scripts to pull data from on premise source to populate database in cloud
  • Ability to create of reports to link the data from the old source system to the new
  • Ability to create Roles within BI cloud and carry out other Admin duties related to set up
  • Ability to create metadata repository, Dashboards, reports, look ups and calculations related to ETL process and load plan
  • Ability to create reports in OTBI, Oracle Analytics Cloud, FRS, BI Publisher using the best fit for the job
  • Assurance of data migration approach and reconciliation
  • Participation in the design of the service model.
  • Support System/UAT Testing
  • Attend workshops for requirements gathering if required
  • Provide postproduction support
  • Knowledge Transfer to the HO BI Reporting and DDaT Team and training to the wider business
  •  
  • A valid and active SC Clearance
  • High level of technical knowledge of Oracle BI Cloud Services, Cloud Compute, Oracle Database Cloud Services, Oracle Data integrator for the following key modules:
    a) OBIEE 11g, OBIEE 10g and OTBI
    b) BI Cloud Service using OBIA integration
    c) Security and Audit and integration with IDCS
  • A strong Oracle Cloud Analytical background
  • ETL / Data Modelling and Data Reporting experience
  • Understanding of Security technologies (SSL, TLS, IPSec, authentication, etc.)
  • Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Oracle Data visualization
  •  
  • PowerBi Experience
  • Strong track record of delivery within major projects and programmes at a national level ideally government
  • Knowledge of other PaaS technologies such as AWS, Azure and Cloud Foundry
  • Understanding of the processes to take a design through transition to live
    Specialist Qualifications/Experience
  • Experience working with Central Government Departments
  • Experience in liaising with Oracle product development teams to resolve identified project gaps and issues
  • Experience working with integrated and dis-aggregated service environment models
