We are working in partnership with a business that specialise in working in major projects. Due to continued success within the major projects division, are seeking the support of a Cost Engineer to join the business on a permanent basis working across the Infrastructure & Defence sectors which encompasses but not limited to areas such as: Aviation, Defence, Power, Transport & Utilities.

This will be remote working from home and 2-3 days a week on the client’s site in either the Bristol or Plymouth area.

 

You will be supporting senior management, working on major infrastructure-based programmes, to successfully drive the cost performance and cost forecasting throughout the projects. You will be involved within project controls, focused on cost forecasting, reporting including Earned Value reporting, developing the controls budget and establish the cost maintenance of budgets vs actuals against an established baseline.

 

In further detail you will:

 

  • Track project change control to ensure alignment with agreed baselines and control data structures including future potential change & risks

 

  • Build project forecasts

 

  • Produce analytical reviews of data, information and tests of controls and processes

 

Role requirements:

 

  • Skilled in cost management systems such as Prism, Ecosys or Deltek, with interface experience across corporate finance systems such as SAP and Oracle

 

  • Reporting project progress, status, cost, and risk using appropriate tools and techniques

 

  • Strong understanding of sub-contractor cost and earned value reporting, performing comprehensive analysis and verification within the project controls space

 

  • Expertise in managing, controlling, and forecasting key project costs for major projects; sub-contractor, equipment & material, internal, and indirect costs

 

  • Proficiency in analysing and identifying alternative solutions and driving efficiencies through to making recommendations to support project scope, schedule, and cost objectives

 

  • Proven experience performing project controls roles including cost control & scheduling

 

  • Extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project)

 

Salary - £40-55K (depending upon experience) + Car + Private medical healthcare
