Contract Term: 6 Months from start date (extension tbc)

Contracting Authority: National Crime Agency (NCA)

Location: Home / Bristol / Warrington / London (This role will be primarily a home-based role with a requirement to possibly travel between either of the above sites as required. This will not be often, and expense covered for this travel between sites)

Note: SC Clearance is desirable for this role but not essential. You will be put through an enhanced SC Clearance prior to starting the role so candidates must be willing to be put through the clearance prior to starting the role. This can take up to 3-4 months. Clearance may be quicker if a valid and active SC is already held)

As a Test Manager, your main responsibilities would be: 

• The management and governance of all test related activities supporting the design, build, service transition and end-user migration of Agency staff to operate on two new Tier 1 “OFFICIAL” and Tier 2 “SECRET” classified IT platforms.
• Creation of robust Test Strategy that will guide suppliers and internal teams on the agreed approach to operational, service and user testing.
• Creation of a Master Test Plan that will support the high-level Test Strategy. Validation of test cases and scripts in readiness for execution.
• Management and governance of test management activities, from system unit, service/system integration, operational and end-user acceptance.
• Creation and management of a defect management process to support test execution and defect remediation throughout build and assurance phases.
• Requirements traceability management, providing tangible evidence to support requirements being met though the assurance process.
• Prioritised deliverables as directed by project/programme managers.

Essential:

• A strong background as a Test Manager with experience operating at the appropriate level supporting both Government and/or private sector clients.
• Demonstrable experience of Test Strategy creation and implementation for the support of on premise and cloud-based data centre, security and end-user services.
• Experience with Azure or AWS
• Strong understanding of Agile delivery
• Strong track record in managing testing teams
• Establishing best practice standards for Agile and iterative delivery 
• Experience in Test Automation frameworks 
• Able to influence key stakeholders and communicate effectively at any level and across business function
• Ability to apply different approaches to different circumstances
• Excellent attention to detail and proven problem-solving skills
• Experience of working in financial services or similar 
• Analysis & reporting of Test MI
• ISTQB Test Manager or similar 
• Agile Project Management qualification or similar
• Eligible for SC Clearance

Desirable:

• A valid and active SC clearance
• Previous public sector experience
