Interim Network Architect Lead 

Pay Rate: Up to £800 pay range subject to IR35 status

Location: Bristol / West Midlands - Site Visits

Main Duties:

  • Responsible for network designs and specifications, including cloud networks.
  • Accountable for designs and networks representing their business area; a point of escalation and actively input into forums that determine IT strategy; cascade messages, standards and best practice from other architecture teams and design authorities to the network architecture team;
  • act as a subject matter expert for network architects; have an understanding of all network technology including: LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, data centre LAN, SD networks, telephony, mobile solutions infrastructure, unified comms, network management solutions, and network specific security and remote access technologies and approaches; champion new technologies and solutions; mentor network architects and associate network architects;
  • be a strategic thinker who can communicate network concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Minimum Requirement:

  • (5 years’) experience supporting complex campus LAN and WAN based on IP cryptography
  • A project or engineering leadership role delivering significant change in to a medium or large-scale environment incorporating data centre and WAN
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) (1 of) Enterprise, Security, Data Centre or Service provider
  • (1 of) Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP) or Cisco Certified Specialist - Enterprise Design (ENSLD)
  •  An enterprise architecture qualification, preferably TOGAF. For example, TOGAF, MODAF, DODAF, FEA or NAF. Applicants who meet all other criteria but who don’t have an enterprise architecture qualification will be considered on the expectation that they will obtain TOGAF qualification within 3 months of appointment in their own time and at their own expense.
  • 1 of Amazon Web Services: Cloud Practitioner or, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals or, Google Cloud Digital Leader
  • Experience of creating an enterprise level network architecture to fulfil a network strategy
  • Experience of high-level design proposals to support a given business or technical
  • Experience of enterprise level design and allocation of address space to support unicast and multicast routing among multiple connected systems
  • Experience of using an EA modelling tool with Archimate modelling language to collaborate with other architects and contribute to an enterprise architecture repository
  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) (1 of Enterprise Infrastructure, Security, Data Centre or Service Provider)
  • Implementing and Operating Cisco Security Core Technologies (SCOR)
  • Implementing Cisco SD-WAN Solutions (ENSDWI)
