A specialist Anti Bribery Corruption (ABC) & Facilitation of Tax Evasion (FOTE) Policy and Complex Advisory Team has been established. The build out of this team provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced financial crime professional to join as an ABC & FOTE Policy and Complex Advisory Analyst.

We are looking for someone who can help shape and influence the bank's ABC and FOTE capabilities. Within the role you'll be helping to develop and deliver Santander UK's policy approach to ABC and FOTE, assisting in the provision of guidance to internal stakeholders, working in partnership with other key functions and business areas to ensure adherence to relevant ABC & FOTE policies and frameworks.

The difference you will make.

  • Supporting the provision of advice on escalated queries and issues from relevant stakeholders, including complex queries and specialist advice
  • Supporting the definition and maintenance of Financial Crime ABC and FOTE related policies and standards setting out minimum requirements across the financial crime lifecycle
  • Supporting the upkeep of the Bank's Financial Crime ABC and FOTE policy and standards, including support of the implementation of Financial Crime Policies to ensure adherence to legislative & regulatory obligations and industry best practice
  • Participating in external work on ABC and FOTE matters where appropriate
  • Supporting the provision of a second line of defence by advising relevant stakeholders on how to achieve compliance with regulatory policies and providing guidance on new, emerging, and current regulatory issues and developments.
  • Assisting with the compilation and reporting of Management Information to senior stakeholders

What you will bring.

We are looking for people who can help shape, influence and transform the bank's capabilities, ensuring we continue to disrupt financial crimes, and support and enable the right outcomes for our customers.

  • Sound Financial Crime experience, specifically covering the areas of ABC and/or FOTE (essential).
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the financial services legal and regulatory framework, industry trends and best practice (essential)

It would also be nice for you to have.

  • Experience of drafting policy documents in a Financial Crime Compliance environment
  • Able to apply informed and risk-based judgement from a regulatory perspective to commercial situations.
  • Excellent analytical, interpretation, influencing and communication skills (verbal and written); with an ability to communicate and network effectively to influence internal stakeholders.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to assist with the development of risk-based strategies and processes.

What else you need to know.

Given the recent impact of the Coronavirus outbreak we will be conducting all interviews via telephone or video-conference where possible.

This role can be based nationally and is permanent.
