On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Collaborative Working & Cloud SME / Architect  for an initial 6 month contract based remotely with travel to Bristol.

As part of the Defence IT and Cyber Team, this role will be responsible for ensuring that tools, technologies and processes for secure Collaborative Working in public and private cloud are successfully exploited across our defence partners, are designed to align with the emergent client Digital Backbone Strategy and implemented to the required standards, meeting customer requirements.  The role will involve significant internal and external stakeholder management.

The successful candidate will have a background in Data, Applications and Technology architecture domains with practical experience in delivering collaborative working solutions in the cloud.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with vendors and other partners in the consortium to agree both the strategy and technical solutions for secure Collaborative Working and public and private cloud usage
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and ecosystem partners to advise on technical solutions and processes that can be implemented into the digital estate
  • Play an active part in consortium working groups and represent the interests of the client
  • Collaborate with Enterprise and Data Architects to ensure that secure public cloud usage for defence is built into roadmaps
  • Advise on cloud native hosting, apps development and operations, including development of standards, policies etc. where required.

Requirements:

  • Solid understanding of secure cloud infrastructure design and implementation, experience of working with sovereign cloud platforms
  • Solid understanding of cloud native approaches
  • Understanding and familiarity with cloud-based platforms (e.g. Azure, M365, etc)
  • Extensive experience of Enterprise and Technical Architecture and working within industry frameworks (e.g. ISO27001) and regulatory compliance (e.g. GDPR)
  • Demonstrates very strong stakeholder management skills and an ability to exert influence internally and externally
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to work with senior stakeholders and bring technical concepts and roadmaps to life.
  • Must be previously or hold current S/C clearance, DV cleared or able to obtain DV clearance.
