The team consists of 4 teams each led by a Detective Sergeant and overseen by 2 Detective Inspectors, these teams deal with all allegations of on duty crime against police staff and police officers, all allegations of misconduct or gross misconduct against police officers across BCH and complaints made by the public that could justify misconduct proceedings or have a criminal aspect to the complaint.

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced investigator with a strong background in dealing with complex and sensitive investigations expeditiously. Applicants will not only have a strong track record within investigations but must also provide ample evidence of integrity, leadership, and managing both volume and complex investigations. There is also the requirement for the successful applicant to work to a PIP level 2 accreditation once in the role.

Knowledge of The Police Reform Act 2002 - Schedule 3, The Police Complaints and Misconduct Regulations 2020, The Police Performance Regulations 2020, Code of Ethics, and the IOPC Statutory Guidance is desirable and an internal knowledge of the BCH complaints/misconduct procedures would also be of benefit.
