ABOUT ERSOU

ERSOU is the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit, that oversees and delivers a regional level response to Serious and Organised Crime, and Counter Terrorism Policing for the Forces in the Eastern Region. ERSOU is made up of both Officers and Police Staff from across the entire region, and works closely with the 7 Forces and National Partners. The departments are unique, in that they are able to offer opportunities to work and develop individuals professionally in specialist areas, often delivering capabilities that are provided by local forces.

This role is in CTP East which is part of a national network dedicated to protecting the public from the threat of terrorism. The unit has officers covering all four areas of the Government's CONTEST strategy - Protect, Prepare, Prevent, and Pursue.

By joining one of our specialist teams, you'll be able to develop your skills in a niche and exciting role, while helping to identify and disrupt those who want to cause serious harm to our communities through terrorist means.

THE ROLE

We are looking for talented and keen people to fill these interesting, varied and dynamic posts. Administrators in the organisation get involved in a multitude of things such as building and maintained records on systems, building management, purchasing and procurement, organising learning and development activities, reviewing induction manuals, booking travel.

We are advertising for two permanent roles at Stevenage and Newmarket and also a temporary role at Stevenage. Please ensure your application highlights which role you are applying for. The post holders will be required to attend a number of operational meetings - noting action points for later follow up. There will be a requirement to travel across the seven Eastern Region forces (in a provided vehicle) to a number of locations and ports to collect and deliver fleet as well as delivering equipment and stationery.

Key Responsibilities:

The general duties and responsibilities of each administrator will include planning, organising and administering day to day activities in the department. No two days are the same. The main daily activities will be, building management, purchasing and procurement, organising learning and development activities, reviewing induction manuals as well as booking travel and accommodation for operational teams.

Hours of work: Mon - Fri 08:00 - 16:00 - This is correct albeit Friday till 15:30pm as 37 Hrs per week

VETTING

Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo Management Vetting (5 years residency criteria) and Security Clearance (5 years residency criteria) or Development vetting, if applicable, before taking up the post. Please be aware the Police Corporate Vetting Unit will undertake security vetting on successful candidates, their family and others that live at their home address, which will include financial checks. Due to the sensitive nature of these checks, we are not able to supply feedback should clearance be declined.
