Interim Digital Technical Architect - Remote Working

Pay Rate: Up to £600 per day pay range subject to IR35 status

Main Duties:

  • Provide hands-on technical leadership, in the development, operation and ongoing improvement of complex, transformational digital services serving millions of users; Work with product managers to understand user needs for new and existing services;
  • Act as the technical authority in prospective, information gathering and scene setting meetings, evaluate technical proposals from external suppliers, and make implementation recommendations to senior stakeholders;
  • Identify key API requirements for integration with internal and external systems;
  • Lead development of user-driven prototypes to identify technical options and inform architectural approaches, working with colleagues and supplier team members to write tests, code and documentation for new and existing systems;
  • Ensure system architectures are robust, scalable, open and secure, with appropriate overall system design and integration points/APIs, to deliver a high quality user experience.
  • Define and create multiple options of systems solutions to inform the decision of the most effective way of meeting business needs, whilst assessing associated risks in collaboration with Senior Architects.
  • Maintain and increase technical knowledge to ensure IT solutions, exploiting the full advantages of the functionality available.
  • Recommend design structures and tools for systems which meet business needs and takes into consideration compatibility with existing systems.
  • Engage with multiple stakeholders across the business to support the delivery of the Solution Designs, IT strategy, policies and processes in own specialist area.
  • Lead on process improvement initiatives and contribute to the strategy.
  • Translate business needs into physical designs and produce detailed design documentation, working collaboratively with Business Analysts.
  • Ensure data is managed in accordance with legal, regulatory relevant legislation, with clarification from SME’s on complex changes.
  • Be an active participation of the Architectural Community.
  • Recruit, train and develop the Associate Systems Designers to build capability within the Function.
  • Fulfil Primary Delivery Manager responsibilities for your direct reports
  • Perform FDO role to improve capability within the function and participate in other function improvement activities.

Key Requirement:

  • Degree in an IT related area
  • Experience in solution design and/or relevant Technical/professional qualification.
  • An emerging Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Cloud Solutions
  • Contract Management
  • PowerBI
