About Synaptic Software
Synaptic delivers a variety of fin-tech solutions to the financial services marketplace across protection (insurance) and investments (wealth management). This role will work across both areas of the business.
ResponsibilitiesKey duties of the post are as follows (but not limited to):
Project planning and delivery
-
Day-to-day management of the programme, including taking the programme forward from appointment (usually in Identifying a Programme or Defining a Programme), and supervising, controlling and closing the programme
Being the day-to-day agent on behalf of the SRO, ensuring successful delivery of the new capability
Planning and designing the programme and proactively monitoring its overall progress, resolving issues and initiating corrective action as appropriate
Developing and implementing the programme’s governance framework
Effective coordination of the projects and their interdependencies
Managing and resolving any risks and other issues that may arise
Maintaining overall integrity and coherence of the programme, and developing and maintaining the programme environment to support each individual project within it
Managing the programme’s budget, monitoring the expenditures and costs against benefits as the programme progresses
Facilitating the appointment of individuals to the project delivery teams
Ensuring that the delivery of outputs or services from the projects meets programme requirements in line with the programme blueprint and projects dossier, and is to the appropriate quality, on time and within budget
Prioritise service delivery to optimise revenue recognition and customer satisfaction levels
Working with Sales and Business Development Managers to ensure a smooth handover from sales
Prioritising and escalating blockers that are impacting on revenue
Project governance

Manage the projects budget and reporting
Plan the deployments
Implement and maintain appropriate systems to support effective deliver of customer based project work
Ensuring that projects are delivered in compliance with agreed commercial terms
Ensuring that Risks and Issues logs are maintained, as appropriate
Ensuring that a consistent and robust Change Control process is implemented
Implementing and maintaining an effective Time recording system
Compiling weekly and monthly project/programme RAG reports at Business Unit
People management

Managing the performance of the programme team
Maximising the efficient allocation of resources and skills within the project brief
Managing internal and external suppliers to the programme
Managing communications with stakeholders
Initiating extra activities and other management interventions wherever gaps in the programme are identified or issues arise
Reporting progress of the programme at regular intervals to the SRO
What we’re looking for:

You will be personally and professionally committed to the Programme Function’s mission to improve programme and project delivery across Capita;
You will have the leadership skills and gravitas to operate comfortably with senior colleagues, up to and including customer and programme leadership roles, as well as the ability to inspire and motivate project team members.
Personable and pro-active professional, able to demonstrate full commitment to providing exceptional customer care and service in all activities;
Excellent levels of time management and personal organisation; able to multi-task;
Ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels of an organisation;
Experience in leading technical projects or workstreams;
Ability to work either as part of a team or as the single representative on a project;
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both written and orally;
Outcome focussed and able to make tactical decisions, within their area of discretion, to ensure that the overall project aims (and therefore the aims of the programme) are met in full;
Able to prioritise and re-prioritise, based on changing conditions on the ground, and balance this with commercial imperatives
You are likely to be degree educated or equivalent, and potentially to hold a recognised post-graduate qualification;
Accreditation in industry-recognised qualifications and standards (including but not limited to PRINCE2, MSP, MoP) is desirable but not essential
