Role Summary

The Inspection Team Leader will lead the Quality Team in all areas of quality assurance activities. You will be an integral part of ensuring that products meet the quality standards of materials and workmanship as set forth by quality assurance, development, or engineering function.

You will have good understanding of Quality inspection techniques, have engaging interpersonal skills & be able to analyse data and compile reports on best practice

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead daily meetings for Inspection areas
  • Monitor KPI's and develop improvement plans to drive forward a best practice culture
  • Support Manufacturing Review Board's (Quality Clinic's) from an Inspection perspective
  • Ability to read drawings & specifications and relate them to the product to determine conformity
  • Support the training of inspection staff and ensure that training records are maintained
  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance GD&T
  • Support the calibration process and have an understanding of calibration principles
  • To work under time sensitive targets and goals that ensures product flows efficiently through the business
  • Ability to use manual & machine inspection measuring equipment, typically callipers, micrometres.
  • Interact with business ERP system and data collection software including SAP, Visual FAI and any other business tool.
  • Ability and Attitude to develop and improve the inspection process via Continuous Improvement


Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Minimum of apprentice trained or HNC qualified
  • Ability to coach & develop an Inspection department
  • Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings
  • Good understanding of problem solving technques
  • An understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance GD&T
  • Capability to work engage and liaise with other departments
