Working Week: 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 08:00-16:00

Salary: Up to £17,000 per annum and 25 days annual leave

Apprenticeship Qualification: L3 Business Administration Apprenticeship

Expected Apprenticeship Duration: 18 months minimum

About the role

Here at Serco we are looking for a Business Admin Apprentice to join us at the Eagle Transfer Hub in Tipton. Working within the admin office, you will be required to help with the day-to-day operations on a busy transfer station whilst maintaining excellent customer and client relations. In addition, you will gain wider exposures to site operations, and are therefore expected to perform some outside duties.

As our new Business Admin Apprentice, you will need to be able to work on your own initiative, be a team player, and work well under pressure.

Other key duties include:
  • Monitoring attendance and overtime records
  • Data entry
  • Invoice processing
  • Waste auditing and returns
  • Daily updates of spreadsheets
  • Attend and contribute to team briefings
  • Ensure that also Health and Safety required are adhered to
  • Commitment to personal training and development, with scope to obtain various machine training (e.g. Volvo Shovel Loader)
  • Compliance with all policies, procedures, and legislation applicable


About you

To carry out this role successfully you must have strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to liaise at all levels. We are looking for someone with a good standard of education including English & Maths and is IT literate (including Excel and Word).

This is a great role for someone who is confident in their ability to work alone using their own initiative, as well as maintaining good working relationships with colleagues both within their immediate team and throughout the establishment, along with partner agencies based internally and externally. We are seeking an individual who will relish the challenge of working within a specialist administration team.

Things to consider

It is essential that you are able to travel daily to Eagle Transfer Hub to arrive on time for work (subject to Covid-19 social distancing arrangements).
