Deputy Site Manager - Testing Services

Covering Notting and Derby sites

3-6 Month Fixed term contract

7.30am-8.30pm, 4 on 4 off

£14.25 per hour

Here at Serco we're helping the UK Government address the challenges posed by Coronavirus - and to actively support them in combating the spread of the disease we're now recruiting for Floating Site Deputies to oversee vital testing programmes for sites in the Nottingham and Derby areas.

Reporting to the Site Lead or Cluster manager, this role will see you take responsibility for deputising for Site Leaders at our Regional and Local Test centres, ensuring that all service users have a positive experience and that all health and safety measures are in place and adhered to. Other tasks will include:
  • Managing stock levels
  • Ensuring teams are properly briefed at the start and end of each shift
  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, including members of the public, local authority, law enforcement and the media,
  • Contributing to creating an environment of operational excellence
  • Provide accurate and up to date reporting.
  • Instilling culture into the sites by supporting the site lead on all requirements
  • Liaison with stakeholders on emergency response for issues with infrastructure

Full NHS PPE will be provided; however, we must insist that applicants are not shielding and have no underlying health issues. Your safety is of paramount importance.

These roles are Fixed Term Contracts which are expected to last between 3-6 months. We do ask that you are available to start work immediately.

Please note, you will not work from one set site, this role is to cover any and all testing sites in the Nottingham and Derby. As such, you must hold a full UK driving licence and be prepared to travel between sites to cover wherever required.

What you need to do the role

Working in an environment where you are potentially dealing with high emotions and to tight deadlines isn't always easy, so first and foremost you'll need to have the confidence, communications skills, and the calmness under pressure it takes to work with a wide range of service users and stakeholders.

We ask that you have a strong Management/Supervisory background, with previous experience of managing a large workforce and key relationships with a number of stakeholders and a full UK driving licence.

Shifts are 7.30am-8.30pm on a 4 on 4 off basis to include Saturdays and Sundays. Please only apply if you are able to commit to this shift pattern and are willing to work anywhere in the Region where cover is required..

Lastly, this role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and all offers of employment are subject to security clearance checks and approval by the Home Office.

If you can include a covering letter that will be great. Please apply today to register your interest.
