Job Purpose

Responsible for managing the successful delivery of medium and / or moderately complex projects; or workstreams within major change programmes, within the constraints of scope, quality, time, and cost, to deliver specified customer requirements. Alternatively delivers several smaller, less complex, projects in parallel with each other.

 

To achieve this, the Project Manager must ensure that the management and support for each project is adequate. Project progress, budget, risks, issues, and variances must be monitored.

The Project Manager is responsible for the project producing a result that can achieve the benefits defined in the business case. Candidates should have previous Cloud based delivery experience, also experience of managing external partners/suppliers to achieve success.

 

Principal Accountabilities

    Definition, documentation, and safe execution of medium, or moderately complex projects or workstreams adhering to agreed methodologies and standards Prepares and maintains realistic project and quality plans Effectively estimates cost, timescales, and resource requirements for the successful delivery of the project to the agreed scope Monitors performance against plan and acts where these deviate from agreed tolerances Provides reports to the Project Board and Senior Management as required Provides effective leadership to the project team ensuring the team members are motivated and developing their skills and experience Allocation of tasks to team members and appraising individual performance against agreed objectives Actively represents the project team, ensuring that effective relationships are built and maintained with the business Agree any delegation and use of Project Assurance roles required by the Project Board and / or Project/ Programme Manager Manages risks, including the development of contingency plans Liaison with the management team and/or Project Board to assure the overall direction and integrity of the project/business case / workstream Management of external suppliers where appropriate Ensures that the project is formally closed, and lessons learned are captured and actioned
 

Qualifications & Experience

    Ability and experience of directing moderate projects / workstreams Project Management experience of moderate projects / workstreams Experience of PMO disciplines Experience of delivery of in-house developments and third-party products Working knowledge of project planning tools, e.g., Microsoft Project
