Supply Chain Planner Inside IR35

Contract Term: 6 Months

Contracting Authority: BEIS

Location: Remote

The UK Vaccines Taskforce was announced on 17 April 2020, with the remit to drive forward, expedite and co-ordinate efforts to research and then produce a coronavirus vaccine that could be made available to the public as quickly as possible.?The VTF is a diverse and inclusive?team?that draws on genuine subject matter experts from across?government,?industry?and?academia. It reports to the?Vaccines Minister, BEIS Secretary of State and the Prime Minister through its Chair, Clive Dix, and Senior Responsible Officer and Director General, Maddie McTernan.??? 

 

The Vaccines Delivery team acts as the interface between the VTF and the Vaccine Deployment Programme, working?with partners to facilitate the smooth supply of vaccines?to?the UK, Crown?Dependencies and Overseas Territories.?Key responsibilities of the team include?working with?VTF?vaccine project teams to?ensure that new vaccines are ready to enter delivery, managing the?ongoing?supply of vaccines that have already gone?live, and working with partners in the deployment programme to prepare for and manage the roll out of current and future vaccines.?This is an exciting time to join the team as the VTF sustains delivery of the?PfizerBioNtech,?Oxford/AZ?and Moderna?vaccines,?whilst?preparing?for the roll out of further approved vaccines and planning for the next phase of vaccination in the UK.?? 

Job Description?

  • Reporting to the Supply Chain Planning & Modelling Lead  
  • Working as part of a small team in this fast-paced environment, you will take ownership of the preparation of the monthly and weekly supply schedules 

Day to Day Duties:

 

  • Preparation and maintenance of best/operational/worst case portfolio supply scenarios and supporting information 
  • Managing the preparation of supply data for a wide range of commissions and requests for information 
  • Preparation and issue of weekly supply schedules at aggregate and nation level 
  • Tracking, maintenance and visualisation of a wide range of supply, inventory and demand data and information 
  • The interpretation and risk assessment of changes to the supply profiles, demand plans and other influences 
  • Development and management of operational process improvements 
  • Support the creation and maintenance of demand and supply modelling scenarios 

Skills (essential)

  • Significant practical hands-on experience of demand and supply planning at an operational level 
  • Detailed understanding of supply chain planning processes and their interdependencies, especially S&OP and related principles 
  • Demonstrated capability in the preparation and assimilation of supply chain planning data and information outside of an ERP system 
  • Excellent attention to detail 
  • Excellent computer e.g. Excel and communication skills 
  • Able to work on own initiative and able to manage time effectively 
  • Able to cope with constant change and a level of uncertainty 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with a remote team 
  • “Can-do” attitude and excellent organisation skills 

Skills (desirable)

  • Government experience – directly or by working for a tier 1 or 2 supplier 
  • Pharma/Vaccine experience
