We are always strengthening our financial crime team and we are now seeking an expert to join us in our Financial Intelligent Unit as a Financial Intelligence Unit Officer .

What you'll be doing

  • Interpreting and articulating regulation, statute, and conducting matters in business context, delivering relevant information in a way that is simple and easy to understand
  • Developing financial crime intelligence and conducting intelligence investigations, applying your financial crime knowledge, judgement, and decision-making skills to identify Money Laundering or Terrorist Financing risks
  • Supporting the development and execution of team plans for their business area and maintaining a good understanding of how the department's goals fit into the wider Financial Crime strategy
  • Providing expertise to internal senior stakeholders and will support as well as work in partnership with other functions and business areas to ensure adherence to relevant frameworks, policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of changes in Financial Crime regulation, legislation and guidance in a business context, delivering complex information in a way that is simple and easy to understand to the wider team and a range of stakeholders

What we're looking for

  • In depth knowledge and understanding of all aspects of financial crime investigation, including knowledge of money laundering and terrorist financing typologies.
  • A detailed working knowledge of the regulatory framework of UK financial services, the political and economic environment.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of regulatory framework of UK financial services, industry trends and best practice
  • Good knowledge and understanding of corporate structures, sanctions, bribery and corruption and tax.
  • Ability to analyse and evaluate complex issues and sound judgement in determining appropriate actions/solutions.
  • Proven track record of working within a similar complex investigations/crime environment, ideally qualified with/or willing to work towards, a relevant professional qualification suitable for the role

Given the recent impact of the Coronavirus outbreak we will be conducting all interviews via telephone or videoconference where possible.
