Working Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm

Salary: £21,000 to £25,000 per annum

Here at Bisham Abbey our goal is to get more people, more active, more often. To deliver those services takes an enthusiastic and customer focused team - and right now we are looking to recruit for a Finance Administrator to join the centre.

Bisham Abbey is one of Sport England`s National Sports Centres and is home to a number of National Governing Bodies of Sport. Bisham provides excellent facilities to Britain's leading sports men and women. We are also a Conferencing and Event Centre, boasting a large number of recently refurbished rooms and outdoor spaces for weddings, corporate events, and team-building days.

As the finance administrator the role is varied and on a day to day basis will consist of the following:

  • Maintain and control an effective on-site finance administration function.
  • Management of the finance system for cash collection, banking, and receipting.
  • Train staff on onsite financial processes where and when required
  • Provide analytical information to support and improve the performance of the site.
  • Maintain records of cash, invoices, and expenditure.
  • Establish and maintain debtor and creditor monitoring systems.
  • Raise sales invoices in a timely manner, by liaising with the sales team and other stakeholders
  • Manage credit control systems ensuring efficient debt management.
  • Aid the month end process by liaising closely with the Management Accountant and other contacts at head office.
  • Ensure that the FOB, C&D, payroll reports and accommodation occupation reports are populated and up to date.
  • Circulate a weekly finance forecast.
  • Evolve and improve payroll and finance system on site.
  • Manage payroll including Shopwork's, grievances and queries to both line managers and individual staff members.
  • Update pre-list payslips with records held for sickness, SMP, SPP and other statutory payments
  • Facilitate with onboarding and offboarding of staff, by updating information to payroll and overseeing the induction pack process
  • Assist bookings team with weekly financial updates and site performance
  • Manage the Admin Assistant to deliver with weekly purchase order/receipting meetings
  • Circulate payroll information
  • Other ad hoc administration tasks (i.e. minute taking at meetings, aiding with recruitment forms)
  • To act as the Abbey Office Manager, taking the lead with regards to IT and telephone systems, site PDQ's and postage

The suitable candidate will have experience of working within a finance office environment and familiarity with basic accounting principles, computer software systems, e.g. MS Excel and accounting packages, e.g. Sage

It is desirable that you hold an NVQ and ideally hold a relevant accounting qualification.
